We’re on the lookout for a PHP Developer to join one of our dynamic client teams, a leading digital consulting firm headquartered in Japan. The client delivers innovative solutions to clients across the globe, specializing in Strategic Consulting, Innovative Design, and Tech and Automation. With a strong presence in Japan and Southeast Asia, the company partners with various organizations helping them achieve digital transformation and operational excellence.

As a PHP Developer, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing several WordPress websites while also developing and integrating secure payment solutions for a bespoke PHP platform. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring seamless digital experiences and high-performing systems for global clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing development and maintenance support for multiple WordPress websites, including updates, performance optimization, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with internal and client teams to develop, test, and implement payment gateway integrations using GMO 3DS on a custom PHP platform.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented PHP and JavaScript code following industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to ensure platform stability and security.
• Work closely with designers, QA, and project managers to deliver timely and high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and workflows through automation and technical enhancements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field—or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in PHP development, including experience with WordPress and custom PHP frameworks.
• Strong understanding of WordPress architecture, plugin development, and theme customization.
• Proven experience with payment gateway integrations, preferably GMO Payment Gateway and 3D Secure (3DS) authentication protocols.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with security best practices, including encryption, secure session handling, and data validation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
