For our client in the Information Technology and SAP consulting space, specializing in process optimization through SAP workflows, e-invoicing, and data management, we are seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Engineer. In this pivotal role, you will manage, configure, and monitor Fortinet (FortiGate) environments, ensuring robust protection, threat prevention, and compliance across the network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Configure, monitor, and maintain Fortinet (FortiGate) firewalls and cybersecurity infrastructure
• Detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to strengthen network defenses
• Collaborate with IT and Security teams to ensure a secure, reliable, and compliant environment
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cybersecurity operations
• Continuously enhance security measures through proactive monitoring and best practices

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as Cybersecurity Operations Engineer or a similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet (FortiGate) firewall and security systems
• In-depth knowledge of network security, threat detection, and incident response
• Experience implementing and managing VPNs, IPS/IDS, and security policies
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, endpoint protection, and network monitoring solutions
• Understanding of routing, switching, and secure network architecture
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in identifying and mitigating security risks
• Excellent English communication skills; German is a plus
